@droftarts Thanks. For now , it looks solved. I did a format with the SD_Card format tool. Checked: only one partition, put the files back and now it starts up again and find it's configfile. I will do the next days intensif testing with the stop and emergency stop and see if the problem still exists. But for now it looks the double partition was the culprit.

@lazy_mosquito I wouldn't slap the G92 into config.g, just emit it on the console with the effector in a well known position so tuning can happen

@lazy_mosquito they provide only PWM output. To use a 3-wire fan at less than full speed and have the tacho outputting correctly, you would need to add a circuit to switch the positive wire instead of the negative wire, and for some fans change the PWM to variable voltage too. It's much simpler to use 4-wire fans, which are designed for PWM control. All Duet 3 main boards provide some ports that support 4-pin fans..

@lazy_mosquito I've corrected my earlier post. I said "Don't use OUT0 because it doesn't have a protection diode" and while that would be correct for the 6HC, it isn't correct for the 6XD. All OUT ports on the 6XD have protection diodes.

@fcwilt Thanks, that answers all my questions. I will indeed go that route: the 6XD for all servos and closed loop steppers. and if i have a normal stepper i can always choose to use the 3HC addon or the tool card or an extra external driver. Solved.

@lazy_mosquito thanks, I think it would help if we changed all Duet 3 CAN-FD expansion board documentation to state that they are compatible with all Duet 3 mainboards. leaving this here if anyone else searches the forums for this question.

@o_lampe said in How to home (G28) midprint and resume?:

I'm not aware that RRF 1.26 already had the 'restore position' feature?

The restore position feature was introduced in 2014 AFAIR, several years before rrf 1.26 was released.

      Hi Markdnd,

Pleased to say the Flex3Drive SMART effector version is not a more expensive special. Its an extension of the existing wide range available, just havent gotten round to listing it as yet due to workloads, although I should prioritise this 🙂 Never enough hours.

You can easily order if you wish to by selecting the Kossel or XY G4 and include a buyers note stating you require for the SMART effector (or just email me a note), and the appropriate version will be provided. This will include all mounting hardware and the compact cooling solution based on 25mm fans which are supplied and included in the cost, as with all Flex3Drive variants.

Alternatively you can use 30mm fans, utilising the standard E3D hotend fan and shroud. Part cooling for 30mm fans will be along very shortly (wip), which will mount to the effector, alongside use of the E3D hotend fan and shroud.

Feel free to pm or email me with any questions.

      J

Found one of the problems: E3d delivered me three 1,75mm nozzles where i ordered 3mm nozzles. The fact that i didn't use any 1,75 mm nozzles before i didn't notice the difference, i thought it was normal to have a bigger melting room with a bigger diameter. Because i ordered now 1,75mm nozzles, i noticed they were the same as some of my previous nozzles.

But because the supposed 3mm nozzles didn't work, i started modifying my heatsinks, I changed a direct drive to a bowden by adding a threaded clip on top of the direct drive heatsink. This didn't work out (ridge on the inside) so now i have two damaged heatsinks, and no working extruder. Also i just discovered that xl Bulldog extruders are delivered with too wide tubing. They deliver 6/4 mm for the 3mm filament and 5/3 mm for the 1,75mm filament, which makes the filament, specially for the 1,75mm filament blocking on the entrance of the heatsink.

Thanks, given that unlike thermistors the response of the pt100 is linear, and given that nozzle temp is the temperature we are interested in (although I suspect filament manufacturers recommended temps are for typical hotend setups) I'll give this a try and report back.

I ordered a pt100 with a max 31865 board and will try that instead. It will also give me more correct readings.
      Thnx for the help.
