I'll second what Tony suggests about trying OpenScad. I'm a 63 year old with no cad experience of any sort and have managed to get to grips with it. Apart from anything else, once you've mastered a few basics (and there are plenty of on line tutorials and help available), it opens up a whole new world of what you can do with your printer. The time taken to master it will be rewarded by time saved in the future trying to find designs that suits your particular requirements. And of course it's free.

This firmware and hardware can work on so many different machines and a simple typo can make so much go wrong, that we have to have the config to even begin to diagnose anything. That being said, great job finding your problem before anyone else had a chance to 🙂

I do have a delta with a 0.8.5 board but it sits unused 6 months out of the year probably… I'm thinking of decomissioning it to salvage the motors for a CNC Router 🙂 and move the 0.8.5 to one of my other printers

It looks iike I posted this before carefully reading the documentation: "FAN1 is set up as a thermostatically-controlled fan by default. To use it as a normal controlled fan, you must first cancel thermostatic mode by sending M106 P1 H-1."

Hi RikyRap, welcome to the Duet world.

The configuration tool that Doug mentioned is here: https://configurator.reprapfirmware.org. You can use that to generate your configuration file and homing files. Save the zip file that it generates, and upload it to the Duet on the Settings page of the web interface.

You do not need to rebuild or re-upload the firmware to make configuration changes.

One thing that bugs me is I can move the carriage in a negative X position to get the probe closer to the edge of the bed, however doing so just results in 0's on the map. I find that very irritating.

Do you have a M208 S1 X-### command in config.g to tell the firmware that the carriage can move left as far as X-### ? If you don't, it will assume that X=0 is the lower limit.

M208 did solve the problem, I can now get within 10mm of the left edge which is close enough. The rest of the build plate I can hit each corner.

I'm running Simplify3D and the times are really far off. I've learned to look at the printer times and ignore the slicer times. I've also learned to check the estimated finish time after a few layers have completed. Certainly nothing to fix at all here. I've found the printer to be close enough.

I am just guessing the M556 might have affected it.

You should probe from a sufficient Z height, say 5mm. You should not have any homing moves (i.e. G1 moves with S parameter) in bed.g. Try this:

M561 ; clear any bed transform, otherwise homing may be at the wrong height
G28 ; home all
G1 Z5 ;
G30 P0 X15 Y15 Z-99999 ; probe
G30 P1 X160 Y15 Z-99999 ;
G30 P2 X160 Y160 Z-99999 ;
G30 P3 X15 Y160 Z-99999 S0 ; probe and calibrate with 4 parameters (as there is 4 points)
G1 Z10 F350 ;

and i used mechanical limit swutch in z axis
the z axis in all points still down (the limit is triggered and do not stop down ) until the z postion bcome 0 and become up again

I am sorry you are having problems getting your Duet WiFi working with your WiFi network. There are two developments that may help you when they are released:

Work on the Duet Ethernet (like the Duet WiFi but with Ethernet instead of WiFi) is progressing well; In a future firmware update I will add the facility to configure the SSID and password of the router you want to connect to in a file on the SD card.

First its M98 Pbed.g
and the "zagzag" underline is your operating system who made this,its the spell correction 😉

Installing Firefox fixed it. Looks like it's broken in IE11.

You would need to use M98 Pbed.g and either put bed.get in the /sys folder or give the full path to the file in the M98 command.
