Also 3.5.3 has issues with WiFi, will try 3.5.4.

Hello! Just got back from traveling. (Sorry got delayed for a few days.) I tried updating to 3.5.4 which seems to fix the issue. I'll keep doing some test. Thanks a lot for the help.

@Electriceye Check the start and end gcode, Klipper commands have crept in there, that aren't controlled by the firmware type switch.

@oliof said in Can`t connect to Duet Web Control due to dynamic IP address:

consider setting up AP mode on the printer for a direct connection.

In this case it's a 6HC, so no AP mode, but direct wired connection would be ideal.

@droftarts

That's really good to know, as I def want to implement input shaping and it sounds like the LIS2DW and LIS3DH accelerometers are the way to go. What shocks me is how incredibly inexpensive those are compared to the ADXL345, with
higher resolution, less artifacts and lower cost seems counter intuitive. 😉

I'm looking forward to getting this implemented asap, as input shaping seems to be the way to go!

Many thanks to all for the input- much appreciated!

Cheers!

@Simonjb yes, the reason for this bug appeared after 3.5.4 was released. It’s been fixed, but there hasn’t been a release since. See the last couple of updates here https://github.com/Duet3D/DuetWebControl/activity

@Siim
when you say you can "read the news with my home network ip"
can you eleborate?

If you mean:
When i enable tailscale on my phone it gets an ip that is in the same range as my home network and i can visit news.bbc.co.uk

then that's not a very good test as tailscale supports split tunnelling meaning your phone could be connecting and getting an ip on your LAN range but then not routing anywhere and then your phone is using the mobile data connection to get to news.bbc.co.uk directly.

I really think you are better off posting on a tailscale forum or reddit group. I do not believe your issue is with the DWC server.

Or in other words, if you can reach the DWC from within your lan, it is working.

@qurt Sorry, "Extended status update interval" (3.4.x) and "Time to wait between AJAX retries" (3.5.x) are not the same thing. So change "Number of maximum AJAX retries" to 4. Leave "Update interval (ms)" and the other settings as they are. Increasing the update interval will only make the interface slower to update.

Can you also send M122 from the DWC console, and copy and paste it? As I said before, the networking information at the end of the report was cut off the last time you posted it.

@Gianluca @Nuramori I think we've found why this happens: check that 'Single bed control` in DWC Settings > Machine-Specific is not enabled. It's a bug that's being fixed for the next release.

You can tell if this is turned on, as there's a drop down arrow next to 'Bed' in the 'Tools' section. Same for Chambers, if you use that.
