first 4 z steppers is not optimal. 3 is better.
      see
      https://drmrehorst.blogspot.com/2017/07/3-point-print-bed-leveling-vs-4-point.html

the maestro is discontinued because a new version is coming out soon.
you can still get the extension boards like here https://www.filafarm.de/collections/duet3d/products/duet-2-maestro-dual-stepper-driver-expansion-module

i would recommend to get the duet 3 because its more future proof.
if you go with the duet 3 and 3 z steppers you could go with the toolboard extension
      https://www.duet3d.com/Duet3Toolboard1LC
if you want 4 z steppers you would need the 3hc

@gnydick 300 mm is the recommended maximum length of the ribbon cable to connect the Panel Due to the Duet board. You only need to use the ribbon cable if you want to use the uSD card slot on the Panel Due. If not, you can use the 4 wire serial connection and make that just about as long as you want.

@whopping-pochard said in Duet3, SBC 5V, and PS_ON configuration double check:

My bed is 120V AC... How would that change things? I have a second SSR to control that.

None at all; the AC SSR isolates the mains voltage from the Duet.

While usb cables can be of variying quality most should handle 500ma, usb standard allows for 1a, and micro usb is frequently used for 1.5a for battery charging so on the caveat the cable is of descent quality I'd not be too concerned about having both connected at the same time even if the ribbon cable might get disconnected.

that is very strange. can you check by running M906 in the console that the motors are actually set to that current.

then can you measure the resistance of one phase of the stepper z motor?

      ClockWise / ConterClockWise ??
Thats just the "Dir"=Direction Signal or are there any other Standards?

Anyway, @MRJEON if your Servo Driver has an Step and Direction input and not Analog +10/-10V or any other of the various control signals out there, your good.

You will need a Duet Expansion Breakout Board

I tried to use the M594 to test... It doesn't work, the X Y Z axes still stop when the U axis rotates.
I tried with the axis and sensors connected on the 6HC board and also on an EXP3HC board.
How can I setup it? I'm not sure I understand the M594 and M951 settings.
Does anyone have an example? I couldn't find it on the forum.
Ideally, on the machine the U motor and the sensor are connected to an EXP3HC, but if I need to, I could add a cable and connect to the 6HC motherboard.

Gotcha. The solder is rosin core 2% flux.

I'll have to look into the bed thermistor. I bought it as an upgrade for the Anet A8 that I was originally going to upgrade to a BLV. But, by the time I got most of the frame bits, I just wound up building an entirely new machine. I'm not sure what thermistor is in it. I just knew that the hot end, bl touch, and duet3d I wanted to be not notch, so I went with all OEM parts.

@T3P3Tony The pack of connectors from F1 did have crimp contacts. The pack did not include the tube crimps for the bed heater and the power input. I don't know if those were removed from the pack at some point. The site documentation mentioned it but this board didn't come with it.

I'll have my credit card company deal with this. Thanks.

      @bearer said in esp32cam 5v power from expantionboard/duex 5:

the total 5v is what matters, but if the esp is the only additional 5v load its not a problem. there is just the one 5v source regardless of where you connect to on the duet (albeit there is a little difference in the length and width of the track, but for 300mA it doesn't matter).

what i can find by google
Turn off the flash lamp:180mA@5V; Turn on the flash lamp and turn on the brightness to the maximum:310mA@5V; Deep-sleep: Minimum power consumption can be achieved 6mA@5V; Moderm-sleep: Minimum up to 20mA@5V; Light-sleep: Minimum up to 6.7mA@5V

but i will remove the ledlamp as i dont need it so 180ma should be the load 😁

@Veti @droftarts thank you for your help. It's working now.

No, the M280 commands have not changed and did not have I1 in RRF2.

I use S in the M950 command, started at 0 and without "!" for the C parameter. Somehow the servos are working correctly right now.

My only feedback would be to make sure the mechanical relay is rated at 10A or more. Otherwise it looks like a typical install.
