@Veti So this is what I did. One line at a time. Commented out the first line G92 and it works correctly now. Strange.

      I don't see a G92 in your homeall.g file.

      Is that where it was?

Extruder won't turn unless tool is selected and up to temp, or you've allowed cold extrusion.

      Otherwise need more details.

Do any of the bits and bobs on the IR board look like they've been moved out of place at all? 14mm trigger height seems odd.

If you have a plane piece of paper on the bed does it behave differently?

@mrenz999 said in Duet 3 3.1.1 Homing does a double take:

      G1 H1 X-500 Y-500 F360 ; move slowly to X and Y axis endstops once more (second pass)
      G1 X222 Y201 F9000 ; go to first bed probe point and home Z
      G30 ; probe the bed

Try changing that section to this

      G1 H1 X-500 F360 G1 H1 Y-500 F360 G90 ; absolute positioning G1 X222 Y201 F9000 ; go to first bed probe point and home Z G30 ; probe the bed

@mrenz999 said in Duet 3 3.1.1 Homing does a double take:

Then it shoots the head to the far right corner and tries to home again.

I don't see anything in your homeall that though, but maybe those changes above is enough.

It's the probe spot. On the bed where it can probe closest to the leadscrew.

those go in the bed.g not the M671 command.

the M671 are the actual positions of the leadscrew.

You don't need to move the endstops. They are defined in software, and can be used as a low end or high end endstop. Meaning that when they are triggered the position will be set as 0, or 300 (or whatever the length of your axis is).

To change the coordinate system to place 0,0 in the front left corner requires going through a bit of a checklist. See here:

Ideally you should use a sock to isolate the block from drafts. It will allow for a more stable temp.

You should also tune the PID in similar conditions to what you'd be printing in, so having some air flow from the fan is a good idea so that the tuning process gets a more accurate picture of what heat losses will be like during a print.

Also ensure that your heater cartridge is secured in the block and that the heat block isn't too far up and touching the heat sink. There should be a visible gap where the heat break is between the block and heat sink. If the block touches the heat sink directly it will lose too much heat to maintain a set temp.

Also verify that running M500 after the PID tuning actually saves the values to config-override. g and also that you have M501 at the end of your config.g to load those values at power on.

Yes you can plug an webcam into the SBC but it won't automatically show up in the DWC. I think you'd need it to work as a network streaming webcam and then point DWC to the stream url.

Aha, that would explain it - I have my M143 set quite low (just above what I'm actually printing at) in order that my 'temperature chart' in the web interface doesn't have a load of empty space above the line. Thanks.

@jens55 Perfect. That was the plan. So that's how I will do it. Plan is to separate the power for the bed and the hotend to different power supplies and then to run to 3 power banks that supply 24v, 12v, and 5.5v.

@mrenz999 Yes. As close as you can estimate anyway. The more accurate you are, the quicker it will converge, but you'll probably still need 2 or 3 iterations regardless.

@mrenz999 said in Duet 3 on BLV Build Bed Compensation:

      ;M557 X50:260 Y50:260 S20 ; define mesh grid
      Z-Probe
      M558 P8 C"^io7.out"
      G31 P500 X-40 Y-10 Z2

You're trying to run mesh compensation before the bed leveling but you don't have an M557 in your config.g to define the grid. It's commented out.

As @nriviera says it doesn't make sense to run G29 before you've leveled the bed anyway, so add a M557 command to the config.g and then move the G29 to the end, Or temporarily remove it entirely from bed.g until you get leveling sorted out. You may need to do multiple passes of leveling anyway.
