@Dep what relay are you using cuz I'm having the same issue, it doesn't happen all the time but its happened a dozen time in the past 6 months

I think I have about 8' per tool but am hoping reduce that by using the CAN setup. If you can't tell I'm a bit out of my league on this. I'm beyond busy at the moment but my next step is to setup some sort of bench test setup and play with it for a bit before stripping down my machine.

Well, for whatever reason, rebooting the machine a few times seems to have worked. Thanks for confirming that it should work without all of the wiring attached. Back to work on it!

@nickjallday please unplug everything from the board except for VIN power, and see if the VIN voltage still reads 36V.

The ADCs in the microcontroller can be affected by injection current if there is an over-voltage on any of the pins, in particular the thermistor pins.

You could disable/enable the drives via a trigger using the door switch, but that won't allow a configurable message that appears only when they attempt a move.
About the only "hack" I can think of is to try reducing the current to the drive so that any move would cause a stall and in your driver-stall.g display a message based on whether the door was open.
You would then have to force a re-home though.

Not necessary if the VIN fuse on the Duet provides sufficient protection and you take the 24V wire from the fused supply on the Duet, e.g. from the heater output connector (assuming that connector has a high enough rating for the total 24V current). If you take it directly from the 24V PSU then you should fuse it.

@Nazar using a mechanical relay will slow down the touch response. Why not use an opto isolator instead?

BLDC motors referred by simpleFOC cost more than NEMA 23s or have less power. Can you refer a BLDC motor with sensor that is similarly priced as NEMA 23s and have torque of 2-3 Nm at 300 RPM?

But would slave motors rotate at different if there is no load on them?

I think I'm going to try stuff in following order:

Simple signal converter between external cheap driver and signal source. For testing only. Arduino or Duet (these for sure have better features). For testing only. Custom driver boards (this would only be in final version and it's a bit early to think about that).

Getting to the actual testing phase probably takes a lot of time.

I hate to admit it.. the issue of the 1LC was an operator problem 😞
An extra '0' had inadvertently crept into a speed setting in a macro and as a result I tried to run the extruder motor at ten times the speed that it was supposed to go. Of course torque went out the window at that point. The macro turning the motor the other way was not affected so there was lots of torque.
<sigh>

Update: Found 90v AC 3- Phase drives. Testing one soon!

@dc42 OK thank you. I didn't pick up on that from the docs. I made the changes, removed my attempt at a dummy heater output. It works great now.

@dc42 I figured it out, it was not, I followed the guide for the printer, but that was wrong, thank you!

i have 0.11 HW
but if its 3.3V and looks like only 3 dives supported i guess better to get regular drives for this project,,, (actualy i have dives just dont have right gears... so will just get gears less hassle
