Thank you guy's, these are all very informative and valued information. This give me a lot to consider, and decide upon which way to go with this.

I've added a photo below. Sorry, I should have done this in first post so you all had a better understanding.

@Norder I already have a second floor/partition, but this directly above the "built-in" soundproof chamber. I was planning on using this as my filament storage. When I say built-in, it's breeze blocks and plaster. I've already had to strap one side with an addition joist in the loft to take the extra weight of the TecSound soundproofing and soundproof plasterboard as this was unsupported and above a stair case (it did have small notched joist, but not enough for the addition weight).

I'll have to take some temperature reading in the partition above. I suppose I could have it in an enclosure (in the above partition), and have a fan and duct in the timber above the door if needed. Then run cables to the paneldue, that will hopefully sit to the right of the door on the cable trunking.

@velvia Sounds more like a pulley slipping, rather than a firmware issue. Check all pulleys are tight on the motor shafts. Otherwise

@wiego If your aim is to avoid damage, then perhaps calling "emergency stop" M112 would be the best action, I think that should stop the current movement?

That's for tuning as a heater. M303 T0 S240 would tune it as a tool including the cooling fan.

why not just use the always on pins then? select vin for ps voltage or 12v to that pin set i think the plug is the same just move it over to it

If you search the prusa slicer github you can find the discussion on the switch from reprap/sprinter to reprap flavor. Basically to adopt modern reprap syntax.

I no longer have any problems with the SD card. There were also no more disconnections after the last formatting.

Unfortunately I don't have an SD card in the house at the moment which I could sacrifice to try out the tool.
The one that was in the duet before is now owned by someone else.

But with Windows Disk Management you can do all the necessary work steps and very comfortably.
It can also be used to resize partitions without destroying or reformatting the data.
In the past, this was only possible with tools from other companies, such as Paragon or Partition Magic, which were able to "move the partition sizes".

P.S.:
Rufus seems like a good tool to me based on the information on their website.
Many languages are supported and it looks like it is formatting partitions and not the whole drives or SD cards like the SD Card Formatter does.

Man kann damit auch Partitionen eine neue Größe zuweisen ohne die Daten zu zerstören oder neu formatieren zu müssen.
Das war früher nur mit Tool anderer Firmen möglich, wie zB das Paragon oder Partition Magic, die dieses "Verschieben der Partitionsgrößen" konnten.

P.S.:
Rufus scheint mir ein gutes Tool zu sein, laut der Information auf deren Webseite.
Viele Sprachen werden unterstützt und es sieht so aus als formatiere es Partitionen und nicht gleich die ganzen Laufwerke bzw SD Karten wie der SD Card Formatter es macht..

OH MAN! Seems it REALLY IS A WIRING ISSUE. I checked all connectors, measured for short and voltage before. Twice, three times, but it seems the long wire coming from the board is broken somewhere.
I can trigger the PINK 1000 by moving the wire.

@dc42 I imagine that's a pretty straight path to the effector with not many turns or bends? still I would keep an eye on it, I`ve seen vibration alone make it chafe through the insulation but then that was the thicker style of spiral wrap 🙂

As part of the troubleshooting you'll have to disconnected everything. At that point please capture some close up well lit photos of the board.

@pjl What are you suggesting as a different control approach over PID? I agree it may not be ideal but improving inexpensive hardware (that I already have) that otherwise performs exceptonally well seems worth considering and PID, as far as I can tell is still standard for closed loop servos.
There are probably only 2 or maybe 3 desired schemes so not too bad. Getting past the software control part is only 1 element though. I would still have to sort out the hardware control of at least 3 trim pots (digipots?). At this point its simply an exploration of possibilities.

@deckingman yes I use these too, mainly to connect the CAN wires from the pre-wired JST ZH plugs that we supply with tool boards and tool distribution boards to longer wires.
