      @handyandy My suggestion: Leave the microstepping on 16 and with interpolation on. Use the defalts for the other, raise them after testing.

      The speed/accel have them as high as you want to have good prints, but not have the printer walk accross the room. 🙂 Each axis may need different settings, Z is usually lower then X & Y.

      @t3p3tony I'll try over from scratch later, when I did the same thing and got to endstops it wouldn't select the smart effector. I also had problems on that page selecting "high" for the endstops at the top, when I refreshed twice then I was able to. We'll see how it goes from scratch.

      Your axis configuration is different between what you had in RRF2 and now in RRF3. Most notably a large change in your steps per mm for the extruder, which could explain the over extrusion. The changes to extruder acceleration and jerk etc could also play part.

      RRF3

      M92 X100.00 Y100.00 Z400.00 E437.00 ; set steps per mm M566 X600.00 Y600.00 Z60.00 E300.00 ; set maximum instantaneous speed changes (mm/min) M203 X9000.00 Y9000.00 Z600.00 E6000.00 ; set maximum speeds (mm/min) M201 X1500.00 Y1500.00 Z120.00 E3000.00 ; set accelerations (mm/s^2) M906 X900 Y900 Z950 E900 I30 ; set motor currents (mA) and motor idle factor in per cent

      RRF2

      Thanks for all the input on this. We will look at how different types of Z probes are dealt with in general as part of the config tool review which I hope to be aligned with the 3.5 firmware/software release.

      I am locking the thread as its starting to get into more of an argument than a healthy discussion.

      @rogerz79, for future backups, you may want to look at the Duet's rfm utility. It syncs your configuration to a computer. Also works well with versions control systems such as github.

      Also, I am not sure, but DWC may be able to create backup zip files (?).

      @kcress After 25 minutes I rebooted the HC's.

      Then it left me muddling about since it changed IP addresses. Had to comb the router tables to find Waldo. But it was there and now I get motion too. A little screwed up X,Y move reversed directions but I should have that sorted after some sleep.

      Thanks all for the help.
      chrishamm; A big thanks for jumping on that configurator issue so fast. Big kudos man!

      @dc42 i wondered about that strange behavior too..got a 300mm diameter Delta...and if i wanted to fill in 150mm printable radius it wont accept it...reason is ( and thats just after i saw you post: in the tool the delta radius cant be smaller than the printable radius...so..if i want my 150mm printable radius i have first fill in at least 150mm delta radius

      @roberto With a 2mm nozzle, do you use 3mm filament?
      Do you have a hotend with a surround heater-cartridge, like the new E3D rapid change revo?
      I could imagine, with a classic heaterblock (even a Volcano) the filament will not melt evenly.

      @zapta Hello Zapta,
      the prostheses are completely personalized.
      There are two ways to make the sockets. The technician who is in Africa, take the scan of the patient's stump or with the plaster, he makes the mold of the child's leg, he makes the corrections and then sends it to me by internet. I do the modeling with the software and I set the G-code and I send it to the technician who will print it at home.

      I don't know where the code in my resume came from but it has this:

      G1 R1 Z5 G1 R1 X0 Y0 G1 R1 Z0

      which would seem to have the same result as

      G1 R1 X0 Y0 Z5 G1 R1 X0 Y0 Z0

      @chrishamm said in Why are heaters marked with the letter "E"?:

      @sinned6915 In case of a mixing tool you can have basically as many tools as you want ...........................

      Slight correction - a limit of 50 tools was imposed some time back in the firmware (but that should be plenty for anyone).
