There are many different types of hobby servos, and we do not recommend any particular one. Check the specification of any servo you connect to your Duet, in particular the idle, running and stall current. Generally, so-called '9g' servos should be okay to connect directly ... but larger servos should have additional protection, or be powered independently of the Duet.

The two servos you list are 9g servos, but the the idle, running and stall current are not listed in their specification.

Just another thought: when I ordered selfadhesive magnetic sheet and an iron sheet (required for the Pertinax print surface), I made sure the iron sheet was thick enough to absorb all the magnetic field. It takes a bit longer to heat up than a PU-covered springsteel-surface, but that's worth it.

Good point that this will change other speeds as well.

Our main application would be other actors via anlog out, these shouldn't affect print speed.
Another aplication would be globally adjusting temperature mid-print, for example.

For print speeds, it def makes sense to adjust the overall speed.

Ok, looks like I got it. I wasn't aware that there was a separate homing file. Hadn't paid attention to it before as RRF configurator was generating my files.

@adamfilip As an addition to the wise words of @deckingman: if you follow his advice, you can use the thermistor built into the heater to limit its maximum temperature with M143. Adapt the first example given there to your own requirements:

I did some more testing now. It is indeed the problem. Upon closer inspection I can see that the X-extrusion is twisted ever so slightly because of very uneven powder coating.

This version needs RRF 3.3 or higher, but the initial config ran under RRF 2.5. Currently, I am at 3.4.0.

@phaedrux I've made PID tuning and now everything is perfect. At least in static tests.
When I get the rest of the parts, I'll test it in print, but looks like for now all of my issues have been resolved. Thanks! 🙂

BTW a lot has changed since I last configured the Duet machine (about 2-3 years ago).
The configuration has gotten much more complicated, but also very very powerful.
I love it!

In Cura you can define an XY position for the seam when it's set to user specified. You may need to unhide a setting. Can you show us what your cura settings for seam look like?

Finally figured it out, had an issue with it loading an old height map.

Found the issue by using the M114 command:

The Bed comp was set to 2.5mm, reran the bed mesh and it seems to have fixed the issue.

@norder I'm glad you solved it. The PT100 daughter board routes CS3 and CS4 to the pins on the top connector that correspond to CS1 and CS2 on the lower connector, so that a second daughter board can be plugged in. That's why you needed different wiring.

@dc42 @droftarts Any additional thoughts on this? Using the manual process seems to have worked, but I am concerned about not being able to use the semi-automatic method.

If a tip cut off at an angle doesn't help much, then I would try heating the filament with a lighter... then stretching it out just before it breaks and then using a cutter to cut through the filament at a thin point so that a tapered tip emerges like a needle.

That is actually a pretty good idea and might give the cone I am looking or - thanks, something else to try.

If you havent tried it yet, try out FR4/G10 material to print onto. I completely switched away from PEI after 3 years, Fr4 has been awesome for PLA,PETG for me. so far nothing has warped and releases easily, no special prep

@phaedrux I was messing around with that because if I used the parameters that the system auto tuner calculated the Heater would fault because the temperature was rising too slowly and then give an expected value that was negative, and the actual value that was even more negative. I could try running the auto tuner again but it take 16 hours to complete on this system.
