I'm a bit confused by all the uploading/downloading comments. Are you uploading the file to the SD card, then printing from the SD card, or are you doing something different?

That is correct, large positive spikes. I was thinking about a short as the reason, but I can not see why it would only occur during long prints (maybe just luck?) if not due to expansion from heat. But then I don't understand how a simple reset fixes this.

A possibility is that on a long print the head moves to part of the builds space (higher)? that you don't use on shorter prints? it could be that a cable is partly broken inside causing intermittent connections only when moved in a specific area of the build space.

You might be able to confirm this by driving the print head around your build space to the extremes while wiggling the cables by hand to see if you can reproduce the spikes.

With firmware 1.18 and earlier, if the Duet can't see the old network then it will switch back into access point mode, so you just repeat the initial install procedure. If the old WiFi network is still visible, temporarily turn off WiFi on the old access point to do this.

Firmware 1.19beta maintains a list of known access points, and you can add and delete entries using the M587 and M588 commands. See https://duet3d.com/wiki/DuetWiFiFirmware_1.19beta if you want to try this version.

The 1.19beta firmware allows multiple access points to be set up on the Duet WiFi, although configuring them isn't yet as easy as I would like.

This is theoretically supported in firmware 1.19beta although it hasn't been tested yet because more work is needed to make it easier to configure.

I've got a ton of insulation (foil bubbewrap, aluminium plate, cork) between my bed (heat rises remember) and the duet/SSR/PSU below the bed. There are 2x50mm fans in push-pull config set to come on when the bed is above 40 deg C.

My duet CPU runs at 40-50 deg C, by comparison on my corexy recently upgraded to a duetwifi which is entirely open bolted to the out side of the acrylic enclosure it runs at 40 deg C. So I think with decent insulation this is more a theoretical problem than a real problem.

I went this way as all the messy wiring is tucked away.

That being said take a leaf from Tevo Little Monster, that IMO is a really nice evolution of the large delta format and has a lot going for it, such as all the motors and electronics at the top.

Maybe a non corexy with idex system. .4 for perimeters and .8 for infill.

I presume it was a fan with a dodgy bearing. My delta does that at present, I need to order a new fan.

Sadly, Chrome under Windows 10 is flaky. It used to crash on me occasionally and I would have to kill off all its background processes individually in Task manager before I could restart it. The latest version doesn't do that, but every so often it becomes completely unresponsive and I have to wait 30 seconds for it to recover. I've taken to using FireFox to control my 3D printers.

That software reset code indicates that the firmware was stuck in a spin loop for too long, and although it was executing Move module code at the time, the network lock was active and the firmware was trying to do USB output. Have you accidentally enabled debugging? To check, run M111 with no parameters. It should report that debugging is off.

S3d is my general first go-to. I have cura installed, but since it only does absolute extrusion I only use it if I really have to. Can give good results, though. I have both slic3r & prusa's slic3r, I prefer prusa's out of those. I also have kiss installed, but it's the least used of them.

None of them are great at everything. I probably do 75% with s3d, 15% with prusa slic3r, and the rest in regular slic3r or cura.

Nylkos: If you have a functional Duex4 expansion board then it will be a lot cheaper to stay with the Duet V0.8.5 for now, although you will miss out on some features unique to the Duet Wifi/Ethernet. The Duex4 expansion board is not compatible with Duet Wifi/Ethernet so for a Diamond hotend you would need at least a new DueX2 expansion board as well as the Wifi/Ethernet. (The DueX2s are due in stock in around 2-3 weeks from now). If you decide to stay with V0.8.5, we have some refurbished boards in stock at reduced prices - email or PM me if you are interested.
