Relevel the bed?

I assume this is with a Ender 3 pro (as per your signature) with a single Z axis?

I assume you mean resume after power failure?

Firmware version? 12v? 24v?

I have rebuilt the gantry to include the IR probe and managed to get an ethernet cable into the workshop, so now testing via the DWS.
I expect that there is still finetuning to do with speeds, acceleration etc, but the whole rig is running smoothly, so back to the surface probing.
For testing purposes, I wrote a macro to probe every 2degrees around the circumference ie 180 plot points.

This probed OK - it took quite a while though - but I was getting readings back in jason format.

So why am I not just using bed mapping and fade to build up the ring collar? Normal bed mapping assumes that the surface to be found is zero whilst mine is as some arbitrary circumference. All I know is that it will be above 20mm and below 48mm (to allow a 2mm accurate surface to be built).

When variables etc are in place for macros, I wonder if I could do all the arithmetic there assuming I could read the mapping points.
Could there be a key in the object model for the surface map?

At the moment I intend to export all the information to a laptop running the via the web services.
I know in Marlin that a displayed position may be given back before the head had reached that point as gCodes are queued and that the position request could be processed before the movement was finished. If I run the probing macro as above, can I be sure that the figures back from the M409 will be the probe position?
If I send direct codes rr_model?key=move.axes[].machinePosition is this outside of the queue?
I think that I can do all the calculations in javascript on a dedicated web page and make an easy controller for the printer, leaving the RepRap software as standard.

@taconite They got a min. length for the extrusions. Apart from that I see no reason why low quantities should be a problem.

For laser & bent parts my goto is https://laserteileonline.de/. Found them to be cheapest of all (that sell to private persons). The online configurator is nice.

I had to play with the value of rod length of 4th axis in M665 (its a bit more than the tubes length) and offset value in M669 (its less than actual) so that the bowden tube stays how I want it.

green led is for 3.3v and without that you're dead in the water. first remove the SD card and see if it makes a difference, if still dead remove U2 see if you could apply a (current limited external) 3.3v supply (2-300mA should be good) to see if there are other problems.

While you certainly have done a great job levelling the bed, you do NOT have a mesh map!
Your printer has exactly ZERO information about what is going on in the middle of the bed. All it knows is that the 4 corners are looking good.
If you are happy printing without mesh bed compensation then you are golden but you are wasting a great feature and doing yourself a dis-service by not going to the highest resolution mesh.

post your config and homing files for verification please.

Check that you have entered the I1 parameter correctly. That's letter i followed by digit 1.

Thanks for the replies. I decided to swap the bed for another one that I have. Now it looks much better. I'm not sure what happened, or why that made a difference, but I'll live with it.
No, I hadn't used hairspray or anything on this bed. I just used blue tape and that was it. Nothing different really. It started doing this after the printer wasn't used for about 2 or 3 months. I'll just leave this other bed on it and go on from here.

@droftarts Hi Ian I continued to work on finding the right configuration. I used the information you sent me while remaining in RRF2 but the results were not good. I then decided to saturate all the Hw connections of the DUET2 board before engaging those of the DUEX5 and I subsequently set the indices of the heaters, motors and tools accordingly.
I connected the 5 motors for the axis movements to the 5 Duet Driver Chips and I inserted the BLTouch at the end of the PWM chain of heaters on the DUEX5, and the result was excellent.
I send a pdf that shows how the boards have been connected to sensors and actuators and the config.g file generated manually with the correct indexes plus M584 X0 Y1:3 Z2:4 E5:6:7:8 P:3 instruction to Map motors on axis(/assets/uploads/files/1583499901268-final-connection-schematics.pdf) .
I didn't switch to RRF3 because I achieved the goal with the 2.5 release of the FW and because I saw that the command syntax in RRF3 is much more complex and needs further study on my part.

The belt tension affects squareness of the X and Y rails. When you put the first belt on the machine, don't immediately pull it to final tension. Adding and tensioning the second belt will also tighten the first belt.

Yes, that correct. Took me some time to realize it. Now I adjust the two belts for the XY to be square. I move the x rail toward the front on the printer until it hits the motor mount on one side and then adjust the belts such that it hits both right and left motor mounts at the same time. I also keep significant tension on both belt, seems to have less backlash that way.

As for "The air goes everywhere" comment, I see the ducts to how air enters the cooled parts of the hotend, but it exits "everywhere", that was behind that sentence, but now I'm thinking that fan might be sucking the air through the cooled parts of the hotend and then the exit of the air is upwards.

Anyhow it obviously works awesome, idea is to better understand the machine, and your line of thought, not to give suggestions about stuff I know zero about :D. I presented my line of thoughts why I believe I'd try water, not cause I think water would work but 'cause I used water in number of instances and was awed with results so now I try water everywhere. In any case I'm off to read more on posted links, that beast looks awesome and looks like you did a lot of interesting things to it.
